COVID-19 March 27 2020

I know I always say this, I know I haven’t posted in a while, blah blah blah. Let’s skip that part this time.

I wanted to write about the coronavirus on my blog mainly so I can look back on it when I’m a grown up and be like “that’s how I felt during the 2020 Coronavirus pandemic.” I also just like writing so here I am.

Am I scared? I don’t think I’m scared, I am kind of worried though, but not quite scared. I know I’m not going to die if I get it so that’s good. I am a little bit nervous of some of my extended family members. A lot of them love to shop, and are in the age group where they are more at risk.

I think the situation here in Canada is going to get worse and my dad, an emergency doctor, says that our health care system isn’t prepared for this to get much worse. That worried me a little bit too, because Canada is the second largest country in the world and we have a lot of people in places like Toronto and Ottawa. I hope it will be fine though.

My parents definitely don’t want anybody to get the virus in our house. My brothers and I aren’t allowed at the playground, in any stores, or even to go to the post office. We are still allowed to go on bike rides though, which is what I do every day.

I think going outside is good at times like this. Fresh air is good for you as well, if you are fighting a cold. I don’t know if it helps with the coronavirus though. As soon as we come in the house from outside we have to wash our hands.

We’ve been doing lots of stuff inside of our house. We are exploring the great indoors, you could say. My mom’s been cooking lots. My dad’s has been making stuff out of wood, and working at the hospital obviously. My brothers and I have been doing a lot of lego. We made a race track, a school, and a space base.

It’s kind of weird for me being in the house this much. I kind of get bored really fast even though there is lots to do. To help myself not get bored I make a list every night of stuff I can do the next day.

Well that’s kind of how I’m feeling today about this global problem. I know it was kind of short, but I will try to write more about the coronavirus on my blog.

  1. I’m so glad you wrote about what it’s like to be living through this right now, Jake. It’s so easy to forget what it was like after the fact. BTW, you are a master explorer of “The Great Indoors” – ha ha! Glad I get to share our indoor landscape with you, buddy!
